Brits can travel to these European destinations by train in less than 2 hours for as little as £40!

New research collected by travel booking site, Omio has revealed the European destinations Brits can travel to by train from as little as £40 this August, with locations in France and Belgium being less than 2 hours away!
Analysing train ticket prices from their site, Omio has listed the destinations Brits can travel to from London to enjoy a last minute getaway before the end of summer.
European destinations Brits can travel to by train for under £100
The cheapest location for Brits to embark on a last minute summer holiday is Newport in South Wales. Train ticket prices start from as little as £40 for one way and is only just over a 2 hour journey from London, making it a convenient location for a relaxing family getaway.
Edinburgh is the second cheapest destination, with single train tickets starting from £80 when travelling from London Kings Cross.
However, if Brits are looking for somewhere further afield to travel that have quicker train journey times than Edinburgh and Wales, destinations in France and Belgium are only a short train journey away.
Brussels, which is actually closer than Wales from London, with a journey time of 1 hour 57 minutes, is the third cheapest destination, with train tickets starting from £94. This is followed by Paris, with train tickets starting from £98 with a journey time of just over 2 hours.
Lille is another French destination that is easily accessible by train, offering Brits a comfortable journey of only 1 hour 22 minutes at as little as £99.
