The ultimate expression of her artistic identity to date, The Colours in Between combines Kumar’s latest work, and her most significant of the last four decades, in a deeply personal way.
Taking a step back to move forward, she has revisited her original inspiration for the works’ creation, distilling the complex feelings of her response into new work, and re-creation.
The essence of my art, figurative or abstract, is colour. I use it to express my emotions, to evoke emotions in the observer, to summon memories.
Reflecting on past work, tracing artistic paths not taken, has brought out The Colours in Between. Four palettes for four decades and four moods, curated in the show as Travelling with Hope and Within Reach, Untold Stories and Other Worlds.
The collections are curated to evoke the senses of sight, touch and smell through colourful paintings and works on paper, tactile textiles and fragrance samples.
Come, discover them for yourself.
