- Reddington Pub Company is set to shake up Nottingham’s dining scene with the reopening of two highly anticipated venues this Bank Holiday weekend: The Anchor pub and Tom Browns restaurant, both serving bold flavours and show-stopping entertainment.
With a combined history spanning over a century, The Anchor and Tom Browns have long been Gunthorpe staples. Nestled along the banks of the River Trent, The Anchor is a stunning family-friendly destination, offering beloved pub classics with a modern twist, alongside a cosy café and a lovely courtyard. Just next door, adults-only Tom Browns delivers a high-end dining experience alongside live music and entertainment.
Reddington Pub Company has invested over £2 million to transform both cherished establishments into destinations for locals and visitors alike. The revitalisation project has created 100 new jobs in the local area, underscoring Reddington Pub Company’s commitment to Nottinghamshire’s vibrant hospitality scene.
The Anchor: Breathing new life into a local icon
Reborn after 16 years of dormancy, The Anchor is now a vibrant family-friendly hub, featuring a pub, café and courtyard, with a cosy and stylish feel. The menu is designed by Michelin Star Bib Gourmand Chef Andy Goodbourn, well-known for putting his own stamp on pub classics with a modern twist, such as Nottinghamshire Pork Belly with wild garlic and chicken cream, as well as his Cromer Crab and Avocado Salad with beef dripping croutons.
Beyond tantalising dishes, The Anchor is the ultimate destination in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Featuring a café serving brunch and coffee to enjoy on site or takeaway to explore the local area, and The Anchor Courtyard, a stand-out entertaining space, for birthdays, weddings or corporate events. And children will be delighted by The Anchor Express – the pub’s very own 18-seater model train. Running on the hour, it’s a free attraction to delight guests, taking in the scenery and views in Gunthorpe.
The Anchor also features four luxurious en-suite guest rooms – the perfect place for an overnight stay or a cosy spot to enjoy a long weekend in the countryside. Full of unique attractions for guests, and with regular activities like quizzes and pie nights, The Anchor promises to be more than just a dining destination, but a community hub where delicious food, family fun, and memorable experiences come together.
