Rickshaw & Co, the award-winning, Indian and Bangladeshi street food restaurant in Partick, was broken into around 4am on Monday 14 July. The break-in came just weeks after the popular local spot celebrated its third birthday.
CCTV footage shows a lone individual smashing the glass frontage before entering the premises and stealing cash from the till and staff tips. The total loss — including damage — is estimated at £3,500.

Co-owner Tushar Ahmed said: “It’s heartbreaking. We work hard, our team works hard, and for someone to violate the place like this is deeply upsetting. The stolen tips were meant for our staff — that’s the worst part. We’re grateful no one was hurt, but the damage and the loss hit hard.”
Rickshaw & Co has become a fixture in the Partick community, known for its fresh, bold street food and its welcoming, family-run feel. Many regulars have already reached out with messages of support, and the team says the response from locals has helped lift morale.
Ahmed added: “The messages we’ve had from customers and neighbours have meant a lot. It reminds us why we do this — it’s not just about food, it’s about the people who come through the door every day.”
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and are appealing to anyone with information to contact Police Scotland.
